Apprentices who have been unemployed (laid-off) for an extended period of time may be eligible for financial assistance to purchase additional related instruction coursework.
To see if you may qualify for assistance, contact your Local Job Service Center and ask to speak with the Dislocated Worker Training Consultant.
The availability of Dislocated Worker funding will vary from area to area, however, the Apprenticeship & Training Program recommends that you make the effort to investigate this potential opportunity for available financial assistance.
Workforce Investment Act Provider Contact Directory
The Workforce Investment Act is funding provided by the Federal Government and administered by the state. Commonly referred to by its acronym “WIA”, this program can provide financial assistance for worker training upgrades; retraining for new occupations; educational upgrades; funding for tool and equipment purchases and on-the-job training funds for prospective employers. To find out if you may be eligible for WIA assistance, you are strongly encouraged to contact the WIA service provider at the Job Service Center nearest you.

Montana apprenticeship sponsors are reminded to contact the appropriate state registration agency prior to working your Montana apprentices in another state. You must receive the proper state clearance to legally work your apprentice (s) beyond our borders.
