JobCentral to Replace America’s Job Bank on July 1

(Helena) --- The Montana Department of Labor and Industry will replace its first national job board on the Internet, America’s Job Bank (AJB), with JobCentral, a web clearinghouse operated by Direct Employers, on July 1, 2007.

JobCentral was selected by the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) to provide job seekers, employers and states a more cost-effective transition from America’s Job Bank.

“Employers and job seekers will still continue to receive the no cost quality service they have come to expect of our local job service workforce centers and the jobs.mt.gov online labor exchange system,” said Labor Commissioner Keith Kelly.

Job Central will assist employers with the:

  • ability to post available jobs
  • recruit eligible job candidates
  • meet Affirmative Action, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and Veterans Employment Act requirements.

Job Central will assist job seekers with the ability to:

  • search for job openings
  • post resumes
  • apply for employment.

Employers and job seekers are invited to register online and use the no cost self service labor exchange system at http://jobs.mt.gov.
