Employee Rights Under the National Labor Relations Act |

On April 30, 2012, most private sector employers will be required to post a notice advising employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act (the original effective date was postponed). Copies of the notice are available and downloadable on the NLRB website. The 11x17-inch notice should be posted in a conspicuous place, where other notifications of workplace rights and employer rules and policies are posted. Find out if your company needs to post the notice. |

When businesses are inevitably faced with the possibility of reducing staff, staff hours or even closures, you are not alone. At no cost to you or your business, the Interagency Rapid Response initiative is aimed at uniting programs, services, agencies and people together to provide the support needed for communities, businesses and workers. The Rapid Response program is a flexible strategy designed to respond to layoffs, reduction in hours and closures by quickly coordinating services and providing immediate aid to businesses and their affected workers. Seasonal Employment Connection |

To help employers specifically target job seekers who want seasonal employment, we have an event on April 18th. We can let job seekers know what positions you are hiring for and how you would like them to apply. This isn’t a traditional job fair with rows of employers (although we do have some booths if you want to be there in person). Instead we provide information about employers, the jobs they need to fill and how to apply. There is no cost to be a part of our Seasonal Employment Connection. College Now Survey |

This survey is intended to gather business stakeholder insights that will allow the two-year colleges of the Montana University System and the College!NOW team with the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education to better understand the mindset and interests of employers throughout Montana. The survey will help us learn more about how the two-year colleges in the Montana University System can be more responsive to the needs of local businesses and communicate the overall results of the College!NOW Initiative more effectively to the business community. This survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. This survey will be open until April 15th, 2012. |
