To view the current openings with the Department of Corrections, click on the following link: Montana 2008 Minimum Wage Determination Pursuant to Initiative 151, the Montana minimum wage will increase to $6.25 effective January 1, 2008. Effective July 24, 2008, the minimum wage will increase to $6.55 per hour, based on the federal minimum wage increase. For your convenience, we have added a link to the Montana Wage and Hour poster and one to the Federal Wage & Hour Poster. you may already know, we have a new Compliance Officer in Northwest Montana
who is helping guide employers and business through the maze of understanding
the new Independent Contractor law and requirements. Brenda
Kitterman with the Employment Relations Division of the MT Dept of Labor,
will be available on a weekly basis to train individuals &/or businesses
about these new regulations. She
will be at the Flathead Onestop Workforce Center (427 1st Ave East,
Kalispell) every Monday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
She will conduct a "group" session (Mondays) from 1 - 3 p.m.
and is available to meet privately with businesses from 3-5 p.m. If
you have clients who would benefit from Brenda's services, please schedule
an appointment by calling the Flathead Job Service Workforce Center
at 406-758-6200. If customers are not available during work day
hours, she has offered to schedule appointments on Thursday evenings,
5:00 pm -7:00 pm, as needed. If
