Located in southcentral Montana,
Park County is Montana´s 12th most populous with 15,968 residents, according to the 2005 estimates.
Livingston, the county seat, is the state´s 11th largest city with a population
of 7,073 according to the 2003 Census Bureau estimates.
With nearly all of Yellowstone
National Park residing in Wyoming, and more job opportunities in nearby Bozeman, Montana, about
one-fifth of Park County´s residents commute out of the county for employment.
According
to the U.S. Census Bureau, median income for Park County households in 2005 was $48,000, compared
to Montana´s median income of $48,150 for the same year. Median income is the average per household
income in the county (no matter how many people live in the home); per capita income is all income
in the county divided by the number of people in the county.
