Montana Businesses Still Being Targeted by Aggressive Companies |
| |
“We are still getting reports from Montana businesses that these companies continue to send posters and demand payment, despite the fact that the businesses didn’t order them. These companies are even suggesting that by not purchasing the poster the businesses are breaking the law," said Labor Commissioner Keith Kelly. “We want to remind businesses if you get something in the mail you didn’t order, you are not obligated in any way to pay for it. You can write 'Did not order, return to sender' on the envelope and send it back to the company.” Remember, posters are available at no cost from Job Service! |

This law does not prohibit an employer from requiring applicants to provide information about arrests, convictions or incarceration. Employers, however, may not treat people with the same criminal records differently because of their race or national origin. Read more here! |
