Community Management Team

Several employment, training, and human service agencies in Missoula and Mineral County have entered into a cooperative agreement to form the Missoula/Mineral Area Workforce System Community Management Team. The CMT is intended to integrate delivery of services, avoid duplication of efforts among agencies and organizations, and offer a no wrong door approach to customers, regardless of the entry point into the system.

The Missoula/Mineral Area Workforce System works to bring together workforce and related services in Missoula and Mineral Counties. The system has established a One Stop Center at the Missoula Job Service. The One Stop Center has a commitment to serve all of Missoula and Mineral counties. It is our goal to build on the close relationships in our community by further enhancing collaboration, increasing staff training efforts and enhancing relationships and collocation opportunities within the Center to build additional bridges to the business community and thereby support workforce and economic development.

The residents of Council Groves Apartments celebrated the apartment's 30th anniversary, and the grand opening of the first Neighborhood Network Center in Missoula. Kathy Dutton, Manager of Council Groves Apartments said, "Our Neighborhood Network Center will empower the residents of Council Groves Apartments and the neighboring community by giving them access to e-mail and many other resources that are available through the Internet. In our lab/classroom setting, we can provide individualized instruction and touch one life at a time."

The computer center, located at 1904 South Third Street West, was opened as part of a nationwide HUD initiative to put computer technology in the hands of those formerly bypassed by these advances. It joins over 1,000 Neighborhood Network Centers across the nation that provide life skills training, educational resources and technology opportunities for residents of HUD's privately owned multifamily housing properties.

The Neighborhood Network program relies on its private partners to equip the Centers. Local partners who have contributed time and resources toward the opening of this computer lab include: Council Groves Apartments, Americorps, America on Line (AOL), Boys and Girls Club of Missoula County, Internet Connect, Powerup, Tamarack Property Management Co. and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
