The Missoula Job Service Workforce Center offers several federal and state funded employment training programs. Funds are limited. If you have questions concerning eligibility, please call 728-7060 and indicate you want to make an appointment to determine your eligibility for training programs. The following is a brief description of targeted populations for each program:
WIA (Workforce Investment Act) Title I-Adult
Federal Eligibility and Priority for Service
- Open to adults ages 18 and older
- U.S. Citizen or Registered Alien
- Meet Selective Service Registration requirements
- Have received the required Gateway services of:
Ø Initial Assessment that indicates the individual is unable to obtain employment through Core Services*
Ø Eligibility Determination
*Core Services
include self-help services or other services requiring minimal staff assistance.
WIA (Workforce Investment Act) Title I-Dislocated Workers
- Permanent plant closure
- General dislocated worker (worker who has been laid off or has received notice of termination or layoff from employment and unlikely to return to that occupation)
- Was self-employed
- Displaced Homemaker
TAA (Trade Adjustment Assistance Act)
- No age limit
- No economic criteria
- Must be certified as dislocated due to foreign imports/exports
