Workforce Services Division
The Workforce Services Division motto of ‘Superior Service for a Working Montana,’ coupled with our main focus of Continuous Improvement for Increased Customer Satisfaction, allows us the ability to continually develop and maintain a high quality workforce system that provides a prepared workforce and supports and enhances the economic health of Montana’s business communities.

Goal #1: Develop and maintain a high quality workforce system for Montana that supports and enhances the economic health of the business community and provides a prepared workforce.

PROGRAM SUPPORT AND OVERSIGHT BUREAU
Goal #1: Goals and objectives are established by the federal programs and statute providing for review and financial management of grants and programs. Objectives are covered by program allocation and Federal Accounting and Program Standards.
Goal #1: Maintain high quality labor market and career information.
Objective:
- Meet and exceed Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) deliverables 100% of the time.
- Increase relevance of and access to labor market information for all customers, including continuous improvement of the website, ourfactsyourfuture.org.
- Increase relevance of and access to career resources and information for all customers, including continued no-cost access to the Montana Career Information System (MCIS).
Goal #1: Increase registrations and usage of the Montana Apprenticeship and Training Program.
Objective: Provide recognized apprenticeship registration for Montana employers and apprentices in the skilled crafts and trades occupations on a statewide basis.
- Increase program apprentice completions

- Increase new employer registrations

- Maintain high level of Customer service
- Increase the promotion of the Montana Apprenticeship System
Goal #2: Prepare students grade 9-12, for meaningful career-oriented jobs through the Jobs for Montana's Graduates program.
Objective:
- Provide classroom instruction and work-base learning opportunities
- Achieve a senior graduation rate of 90%
- Achieve a senior positive outcome rate of 80%
- Achieve a senior full-time placement rate (job & post secondary) of 80%
- Achieve a non-senior return to school rate of 70%
Goal #3: Implement a statewide Incumbent Worker Training program, as authorized by SB 388.
Objective:
- Wage Gain of Employees
- Employment and Retention of Employees
- Success of the Business
Goal #1: Engage the workforce system by anticipating and responding to business current and emerging needs for skilled workers.
Objective:
- Support industry sector initiatives in health care, electric generation and transmission, and development of renewable energy and energy conservation and other sectors.
- Continue support of One Stop System development and continuous improvement.
- Support modernization and improvement of the Labor Market Information system.
Goal #2: Improve efficiencies by getting more dollars into the hands of Montana's needing citizens.
Objective:
- Review programs and administrative budgets to ensure fiscal accountability and reduce administrative layering.
- Utilize modern technology to conduct business and save costs.
Goal #3: Encourage alignment among workforce development, post secondary education, and economic development.
Objective:
- Encourage and support cooperation between workforce and economic development programs and post secondary education in pursuit of jointly operated projects.
- Support lifelong learning initiatives that enhance the ability of workers and employers to obtain timely and appropriate training.
- Foster and support coalitions that add value to the workforce system.
Goal #4: Advance workforce development policies.
Objective:
- Provide recommendations to the Governor and other state leaders, who support economic development efforts in Montana.
- Review and develop program policies.
